How to Contract Us
We work with our clients, as they need us; sometimes along side them, sometimes in the back-ground, sometimes as their marketing team. Some clients want to minimize cash outlays, others want a consistent monthly budget, while some need to see a per-project proposal.
Hourly
Small projects and quick updates can often be done the same day, often in the same hour, that they are requested. When you need something quick, and it will take less than an hour, an A-La-Carte task is the way to go. We'll bill you just for the time worked, in 1/10th an hour increments.
Retainer
For ongoing work, or clients with frequent needs, a retainer program is the way to go. Retainers are for hours purchased up-front at a discount, and expected to be used within 6 months. Packages start at 3 hours with decreasing per hour costs as the quantity of hours increases.
Project
Larger one-time projects such as a website rebuild, can be estimated for sign-off and budgeting. A well defined Scope of Work can often take several days to discover all the requirements but once it's outlined, the project costs and deliverables are fixed with defined milestones.
Hourly Work
Small jobs and quick turnarounds
Hourly tasks are the most typical type of work for first time or rare clients. Clients call or email with a quick task, such as:
- small change needed to the website
- a social media post created and published
- an email to be generated and sent out
- an ad created for display or print
While some of these tasks are commonplace enough to provide an estimate, often the back and forth for estimate development and approvals would take longer than the task. Therefore, when the task is small and we want to keep the expense as tight as possible, we'll simply invoice for the time worked at the end of the month.
New clients get a 2 hour credit line automatically which increases as our experience together grows. Our Hourly charge is $150 per hour, and we track time in 1/10 per hour increments.
Retainer Contracts
Cost effective and monthly programs
Retainer work is our bread & butter. We have two types of clients that use retainers.
- People looking for a discount on the hourly rate. They will purchase a batch of hours in advance and get a lower hourly rate.
- Businesses that are looking for continuous monthly work, such as SEO or Lead Generation.
By purchasing hours in advance, clients get a lower per-hour cost. The hours have to be used within 6 months, and can be used on several different projects. This becomes an ideal arrangement for clients with a backlog of changes that they need made, or updates are going to be frequent but sporadic. We also provide technical web work for graphic designers, IT support and business coaches, and this program is perfect for them. Since the hours can be split among a series of projects, we are contracted to do white-label website work on their behalf for their clients.
We can also work within a monthly budget for a client to build an ongoing marketing campaigns around that budget. The program can adjust where the hours are spent each month, from website updates to content development, from SEO to advertising. As their business needs change, we can adjust and accommodate without renegotiation or surprising over-charges.
